Brown: A Landmark Case

The Supreme Court's 1954 landmark ruling in Brown v. Board of Education declared segregated schools unconstitutional and overturned the "separate but equal" doctrine established by the Court in 1896. This video segment describes the findings of the court and examines how the decision galvanized the Civil Rights movement, as well as white resistance to desegregation. This resource is part of the Civil Rights collection.
