Several climatic changes that have been linked to global warming and how the greenhouse effect warms the Earth are described in this segment from Race to Save the Planet: Only One Atmosphere. Three key greenhouse gases (carbon dioxide, methane, and chlorofluorocarbons [CFCs]), produced by human activities, influence the greenhouse effect. In particular, a positive correlation between carbon dioxide levels and global temperatures since 1880 is noted.
