Empowerment

This video from Women, War & Peace demonstrates the power of women and suggests that in today’s world, especially with the evolution of communication, the presence of women at peace talks is necessary and inevitable. In October 2000, the United Nations Security Council passed the first resolution, Resolution 1325, devoted to women, after intense pressure from female activists. Resolution 1325 stipulated that at peace building and reconstruction negotiations, women must be considered. Despite the resolution, women still struggle to be heard and included in such negotiations, but they continue to fight for their rights.
