Dinosaur George l Museum in the Classroom
“Dinosaur George” Blasing is a self-taught paleontologist and animal behaviorist with more than 35 years of study and research experience. He's a public speaker, author, and television host and writer who has performed live to over 3 million people and has lectured in over 3,000 museums, schools and public events.
Dinosaur George has spent over 16 years teaching Elementary, Intermediate and Middle school students about the amazing creatures that once ruled our planet. He has volunteered his time to make hundreds of appearances in children’s hospitals, Boys and Girls Clubs, YMCA’s and Boys and Girls Scouting events. And now with the addition of the DINOSAUR GEORGE: MUSEUM IN THE CLASSROOM, sponsored by KLRN Public Television, he is able to bring an entire museum to each school he visits.
DINOSAUR GEORGE: MUSEUM IN THE CLASSROOM gives students the unique opportunity to see exhibits of prehistoric life with over 150 museum-quality pieces from the earliest life on earth. From giant Texas reptiles, to dinosaurs and Ice Age mammals, students see firsthand some of the creatures that once roamed Texas and maybe even in their own backyard!
This Collection of Lesson Plans for Grades K-6 may be used alone or to complement a visit from Dinosaur George. Lessons cover Science and English/Language Arts/Reading standards, and all of the student activity sheets are available in both English and Spanish.
