The Great Depression and the Civilian Conservation Corps | Wild Nevada

Learn about the work and history of the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) in Beaver Dam and Royal Gorge State Parks during the Great Depression. The CCC was a major part of FDR’s New Deal. Starting in 1933, the CCC was a relief program, which offered jobs to unemployed young men who had a hard time finding work during the Great Depression. The men working in the CCC helped to conserve natural resources by upgrading state parks, planting trees, and building trails and lodges.
