Shadow Smile! - Part 3 | Sid the Science Kid

Join Sid and his classmates for a special field trip to the science center with Miss Susie to explore shadows. The class discovers that to make a shadow, all you need is a light source and something to block part of the path of light. The class first figures out that the object has to be in the path of light, such as sunlight, in order to create a shadow. They then come to realize that any light source can lead to a shadow as long as there is an object blocking the path!

Shadow Smile! - Part 7 | Sid the Science Kid

Sid leaves school after a day of learning all about shadows! On the car ride home, Sid's Grandma tells him about how her Dad used to make animal shadow shapes on the wall by projecting a lamp towards the wall and using his hands to block part of the the light path creating a shadow shape. Sid demostrates what he has learned about shadows to his family and explains the necessary elements of a shadow! Sid and his Dad put on their own shadow show, showing how much fun shadows can be. Sid ends his day full of learning about shadows with an idea to create a shadow switcher where people could try out the shadows of other people or animals to see what it would be like in their shoes!
