Together we sing the “Hola” song, and then Sra. Alicia and Susana greet each other. Sra. Alicia reviews the geometric shapes el cuadrado (the square) and el triángulo (the triangle), and introduces el rectángulo (the rectangle) and el círculo (the circle.) Susana brings in her caja mágica (magic box) and shares its contents with Sra. Alicia and the students. In the magic box there are circles, rectangles, triangles, and squares. Sra. Alicia invites the students to count the geometric shapes and introduces the number catorce (fourteen). Sra. Alicia shows the students how to make a mola from cut paper. In a movement activity, Sra. Alicia reviews pinta (paint), corta (cut), pega (glue), and traza (trace/draw) and asks students to perform corresponding actions while incorporating review vocabulary as well. The lesson closes with the “Adios” song.
