        Facing Deportation and the History of the Khmer Refugee | Sentenced Home Film Module

        This module introduces Many Uch, one of the young men in the film who has grown up in Seattle, WA, committed gang-related crimes and now faces deportation. We also meet Many’s mother who recounts their harrowing escape from the Khmer Rouge—and her struggle to parent in an unfamiliar country. The module provides background on the Cambodian refugee’s arrival in the U.S., Many’s crime and time served, and background on the law requiring deportation.
