Montana Mosaic: Indian Education in Montana

When writing the 1972 Montana Constitution, framers took the unusual step of recognizing that the cultural heritage of American Indian citizens in Montana is important. To ensure that, the Office of Public Instruction (Montana's equivalent to a department of education) developed teacher trainings and essential understanding about Montana's American Indian culture as it pertains to education in the state. Montana is fairly unique to have an "Indian Education for All' curricular area, on par with all other curricular areas.
