        John Napier | Famous Mathematicians

        Scottish mathematician John Napier (1550 - 1617), circa 1595. Napier was born in Merchiston Castle in Edinburgh and educated at the University of St Andrews. He was a Protestant and the author of the first widely accepted Scottish edition of the Bible 'A Plaine Discovery of the Whole Revelation of St John' in 1593.
