Army | Georgia Oral History

Rudy Kurelic was working as a clerk in a steel company in Columbus when the Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor. He decided to join his four brothers in serving his country and joined up with the Army, eventually reaching the rank of Staff Sergeant. He remembers carrying a gas mask wherever he went and experiencing a number of problems with the mess hall menu.
