Thousands Gather For Funeral Of Rosa Parks | The 20th Century Since 1945: Civil Rights & the New Millennium

DETROIT — A group of mourners hold a tribute to civil rights pioneer Rosa Parks while waiting to catch a glimpse of the horse-drawn casson that carried her body on Nov. 2, 2005 at the Greater Grace Temple in Detroit, Mich. Rosa Parks, who died on October 24 at the age of 92, will always be remembered as the woman who was arrested for refusing to give up her seat on a bus to a white man, an incident that sparked the civil rights movement.
