After the “Hola” song, Sra. Alicia and Susan greet each other and review colors. Sra. Alicia introduces the color marrón (brown). Susana and Sra. Alicia then sing the color song and invite students to sing along. Sra. Alicia Shows the Diego Rivera painting Baile en Tehuantepec. (Dance in Tehuantepec). Sra. Alicia describes the people and colors in the painting and points out the many examples of brown in the painting. In order to establish a parallel between the painting and a real dance, Sra. Alicia introduces a video of children dancing a Mexican folk dance called La Raspa. After that, the number dieciocho (eighteen) is introduced as students are invited to count 18 dancing feet with Sra. Alicia. The lesson closes with the “Adios” song.
