        La-Z-Boy and Microsoft Introduce New Easy Chair | History of the Computer

        384278 01: La-Z-Boy, the luxury recliner maker, and computer software megolith Microsoft Corp., together launched a techno savy easy chair for the Internet Age January 9, 2001. The chair comes complete with computer jacks and equipment for surfing the Web on a television set. Called 'The Explorer,' the seat also comes with a Microsoft WebTV receiver, wireless keyboard and two free months of internet service, which enables Internet surfing, e-mail and interactive programs on regular TV.
