Lesson Plan | Mark Twain and the Mark Twain Prize for American Humor

In this lesson students learn about the life and works of Mark Twain, and why he set the bar as an American humorist. They analyze and compare the humorous “one liners” and introductory remarks of Mark Twain to that of Mark Twain Prize recipients. Finally each pair of students researches and presents (in both serious and humorous formats) one former recipient as they vie to win the prize for the “Best of the Best.”
