Frame Ask your students to recall animals with feathers (accept birds in general, as well as specific names of birds: parakeet, penguin, peacock, etc). Tell your students that it is believed that some dinosaurs had feathers, as well. Ask your students if they have seen feathers anywhere else, besides on birds (in a winter coat, in a blanket, in a pillow). Explain that some things like coats and blankets contain bird feathers in order to insulate our bodies and keep them warm.
Focus Tell your students that in the clip they are going to watch that Buddy and Tiny meet a dinosaur that is believed to have had feathers. Ask your students to identify what kind of dinosaur they meet and why that dinosaur may have had feathers.
