        ¡Arte y más! Lesson 50

        After the “Hola” song, Sra. Alicia and Susan greet each other and introduce the song “Colores.” (“Colors.”) Sra. Alicia invites students to sing along as she points to the respective colors. Once again she reviews the movements for each color, then uses those movements to continue with color patterns. Next she reviews the photograph and self-portrait of Frida Kahlo and introduces Kahlo’s still-life painting Viva la vida (Hurray for Life), which included many sandías (watermelons). Sra. Alicia then reads the poem “Las Sandías” (“The Watermelons). At the end of the lesson, Sr. Enrique paints a still life of flowers and a book. The lesson closes with the “Adios” song.
