STEM from the START | Materials 2 - Properties

When you are making something, it is important that you pick the right materials with the right properties to do the job!

The Quinks have made a chair for Willow out of cardboard. Willow tells them that the chair needs to be made of something stronger, if it is going to hold her up. She then explains that something that is strong can withstand great force or pressure and that being strong is a property a chair should have.  She goes on to explain what a property is using the examples of colorful, flexible, transparent, incandescent, and weightless. She then describes some of the properties of her stuffed gorilla.
