        Revolutionary Optimists Film Trailer

        The Revolutionary Optimists follows Amlan Ganguly and three of the children he works with through adolescence as they challenge the idea that marginalization is written into their destiny. Filmed over the course of three and a half years this lawyer-turned-community activist helps to empower children in Calcutta's slums to transform their own neighborhoods and lives by cleaning up trash dumps, going to school, reducing malaria infection.

        Educators can use this guide to encourage youth to focus on issues that connect with their lives in their own communities. Students will identify strengths and problems in their neighborhoods, map their concerns and share stories on an interactive website, showing that young people truly can be the change agents in their communities. This 1-week or 4 session guide was created for classrooms or programs that that would like to introduce the Map Your World curriculum, but have a limited amount of time.
