Discuss with your students what they might do to make themselves harder to find in a forest (paint their face brown and green, wear leaves on their clothes, try to blend in with their surroundings). Explain to your students that when animals can hide well and blend in with their surroundings it is called, camouflage.
Explain to your students they will be watching a clip from Dinosaur Train where the Pteranodon family plays a game of Hide & Seek. Ask your students to watch and identify how Mr. Pteranodon hides so well.
Ask your students:
“Why did the kids think that their Dad would be easy to find?” (He is so big)
“Why was Dad so difficult to find?” (He covered himself in leaves, hid in a bush and was careful not to move)
“What is it called when animals blend in with their surroundings?” (Camouflage)
