        Triangle Fire: Calling for an Industry-Wide Strike

        In November 1909, going against the opinions of senior male union leaders, 22-year-old garment worker Clara Lemlich rallied a packed meeting at New York’s Cooper Union to a call for a general strike against the 500 shirtwaist manufacturers in New York City.
