NOVA Online | Cars That Power the Grid

Professor Willett Kempton, from the University of Delaware, talks to Neil DeGrasse Tyson about an electric car he is developing that can help charge the grid when it&#39s not taking electricity from it. In this video from NOVA Online, Kempton says that a hundred such cars could provide the energy of a one-megawatt power plant. They would also be more reliable than power from the sun or wind, whose availability fluctuates. Since 2006, smart cars have been produced by Tesla, Nissan, and others, but only Kempton?s can return power to the grid.
