Selling a Play | Act One

Moss Hart is told that his play can be produced if he agrees to work with George Kaufman. Hart is very excited and calls Kaufman, who is a very rude man and insults the play. Hart is discouraged but later gets a call to meet Kaufman, and the two agree to work together. Old Moss Hart reflects on how happy and hopeful he was in this moment.
