A Raisin in the Sun Revisited: Chapter 2

This second segment of A Raisin in the Sun Revisited focuses on Lorraine Hansberry, showing film clips and photos of her as she discusses how her parents bought a home in Chicago with racially restricted covenants, and made a legal case all the way to the U.S. Supreme Court, the where covenants were struck down. Hansberry's memories inspired her to write the play A Raisin in the Sun. This segment features footage of the actual house where the Hansberry family lived as well as  shots of Hansberry, her office, and a self-portrait, and scenes of Chicago in the time period in which she wrote the play.
