After World War II, teenagers came into their own as consumers. Today's teen is twice as likely to get a job as a teenager in the 1950s. Back then young people were primarily concerned with school, sports, and having fun. Now, more than 5 million teenagers between the ages of 12-17 work voluntarily for pay. Why? There are many reasons: wanting their own money, having fun, getting experience, but the number one reason is paying for cars and car insurance.
