        The Siege of Sevastopol Panorama

        Roubaud, Franz (1856-1928). Russian. Medium: mixed media. Date: 19th Century. In September 1854, Allied troops (British, French and Turkish) landed in the Crimea and besieged the city of Sevastopol, home of the Tsar's Black Sea Fleet which threatened the Mediterranean; depicted here as part painting, part model, it is housed in a specially constructed circular building in Sevastopol, Russia.
