        Fr 2643 f.312v Battle of Najera, 1367, from Froissart's Chronicle

        French School, (15th century); French. Medium: vellum. Date: 15th Century. Also known as the Battle of Navarrete, was fought on 3 April 1367 between an Anglo-Gascon army and Franco-Castilian forces near N�jera, in the province of La Rioja, Castile. The English were led by Edward, the Black Prince, and John of Gaunt, Duke of Lancaster (sons of King Edward III of England) allied with Peter of Castile ("Peter or Pedro the Cruel") against his brother Henry of Trast�mara (Enrique II).
