        How to Create a Balanced Budget: Lesson Plan | PBS NewsHour

        How do we know that our government is fulfilling its duties to us, the public? How do we decide what those duties are? The federal budget reflects the issues that Americans care about, and determines how much money the government has allocated to those issues. As efforts to pass the federal budget continue, students will have the opportunity to re-prioritize how money is spent using the interactive simulation tool Balancing Act. What changes will students make, and why?
