Oh Shuck! | Oyster Farming: Threat of Vibrio Infection
Raw oysters can carry toxic amounts of Vibrio, types of bacteria, in their gut. Researchers are looking for a relationship between high Vibrio levels and the water's salinity and temperature, which can be affected by a number of weather variables.
Performance Expectation: Evaluate the claims, evidence, and reasoning that the complex interactions in ecosystems maintain relatively consistent numbers and types of organisms in stable conditions, but changing conditions may result in new ecosystems.
What do oysters eat?
Diagram the body parts of an oyster.
How long does it take an oyster to filter a gallon of water?
How do oysters get the particles from the water into their stomachs?
What distinguishes Vibrio vulnificus from other forms of Vibrio?
What specific relaltionship is the researcher in the video trying to understand?
