This video from Nature highlights the critical relationship between the horseshoe crab and the red knot, a South American bird that migrates annually from Brazil to the Artic. When the horseshoe crab begins to spawn on the shores of the Delaware Bay, the red knot uses the unearthed eggs of the crabs as the fuel that will enable them to make the 4,000 mile journey northward.
