Explore the landscape and flora of the Pacific Northwest of the United States in this gallery of images from NASA. Photographic images taken from the International Space Station provide an overhead view of the region to show the Olympic and Cascade Mountains, forested regions, and the rain shadow effect of the mountains. Additional images at successively closer viewpoints show different perspectives of the region and provide a closer look at some of the vegetation in the Hoh Rain Forest in Olympic National Park.
