This World Is Black and White

Learn about albedo, feedback loops, and how a change in one environmental condition can cause a change in a second condition in this video by NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center. Watch how a theoretical planet called “DaisyWorld” changes as the color of daisies contributes to a feedback loop of cooling and warming. Using this simple model to first focus on a single variable (albedo) helps students build conceptual understanding of the complex topic of feedback loops in climate systems.
