        Italy National Anthem

The national anthem of Italy is called "Il Canto degli Italiani" (The Song of the Italians). The lyrics were written by Goffredo Mameli and the composer was Michele Novaro. The anthem was adopted in 1946 even though it was originally written in 1847. The anthem also goes by the name "L'Inno di Mameli" (Mameli's Hymn), and "Fratelli D'Italia" (Brothers of Italy).
