        River Watershed Project

Students in the Ecology Club at Wallkill Valley Regional High School become “real scientists” and experience “real science” as they explore the Wallkill River bordering their school in this episode of NJEA’s Classroom Close-up. Thanks in part to a Frederick L. Hipp grant, the students are equipped with the tools they need to create an open air classroom that allows them to take the science information they learn from teachers and textbooks and apply it in a hands-on way. This project allows students to gain an understanding of their local environment while learning how to collect and analyze scientific data.
