        Mr. William Clifford Garner, born June 16, 1920, in Rome, Georgia, attained the rank of Staff Sergeant in the Army 4th Infantry, specializing in field artillery as a radio operator. Serving in the European Theater, Mr. Garner was among the soldiers who assaulted Omaha Beach on D-Day. He describes the push into France and his experiences at the Battle of the Bulge and Bastogne.
