Learn about National Guard families in this clip from The Homefront. After returning from a six-month deployment to Afghanistan in 2013, Air National Guard Senior Master Sergeant Peter Noble promised his wife, Sarah, and daughters, Kalin (13) and Kiera (11), that he would never deploy again. However, Peter is given the opportunity to be promoted to Chief Master Sergeant, a lifelong career goal, if he re-enlists in the Air National Guard for another three-year term. The challenge is that promotion comes along with the very real possibility of one more long overseas deployment. Together, the family wrestles with this decision, ultimately deciding to stay in the Air National Guard. In October 2014, Peter accepts the promotion with his family's support.
