Sampling with Flip Flops | Beat Making Lab

This episode of PBS's Beat Making Lab explores the art of sampling—recording and mixing sounds from life—across the globe from Fiji to North Carolina. A local drummer working with the Fiji Lab records music using PVC pipes and a flip-flop, then by sending it halfway around the world, the sample is mixed into a new, edgy track by DJs at UNC. All around the world and across cultural boarders, Beat Making Lab brings artists together to create wild, new sounds.
