        Health Interpreter

        This is a KQED "Work Voices" ESL interview containing five short video segments that focus on Carlos Garcia who is from Nicaragua and works as a health interpreter. He describes how he chose his career, the path that he took and other career considerations. Work Voices is a KQED Education project that presents a series of authentic interviews with former ESL students who are now employed in vocational areas that offer feasible career opportunities for immigrants.

        This video introduces Carlos Garcia, a health interpreter from Nicaragua who was trained in the Health Care Interpreter Certificate program. He is now a nationally certified medical interpreter and has worked in a freelance capacity in San Francisco since 2002.
