John Leguizamo's Tales From a Ghetto Klown - ¿Se Habla Español?

Spanish is on the rise in the United States, but not in a simplistic way. Immigration and bilingualism (among Latinos and non-Latinos) both increase the usage of Spanish in the U.S. But, just as Spanish is on the rise, there is also tremendous growth of English dominant Latinos: the majority of U.S. Latinos are native born; more and more Latinos are English dominant or monolingual English speakers. This lesson is a suite of three options including:

1.) Reflective questions for English-speaking students to examine language acquisition

2.) Reflective questions in Spanish for native speakers or students of the Spanish language

3.) Analysis of demographic data regarding English and Spanish usage by U.S. Latinos
