        Standards:

        Directions

        1. Review what students have already learned about homesteading. Families lived in small homes and teens were expected to work, especially at home and on the farm. Have students close their eyes and imagine being a homesteader. Explain that the video they will watch will provide a teenager’s view of homesteading.

        1. Distribute the A Homesteading Teen handout. Instruct students to take notes on the experience of the teenage homesteader while watching the video.
