In this clip from Genius by Stephen Hawking, watch the volunteers discover where the middle of the universe is. The volunteers are presented with a machine entitled "The Middle of the Universe." The experiment comprises of two screens that represents a map of a small section of the universe; the LED lights on the screens represent galaxies. The screens show identical parts of the universe however there one screen is 10 million years apart from the other. By manipulating the screens, the volunteers learn they can make any galaxy the center of the universe. In doing so they see a pattern in the remaining galaxies; they are all slightly off of their counterpart galaxy but in a uniform manner. This experiment aims to visualize the theory that anywhere could in fact be the start of the universe.
