        Campaign Medal, 1860 | A State Divided

This bronze medal was a campaign badge for Abraham Lincoln. Voters used tokens, buttons, pins, or medals to support the person they would vote for. This badge was used during the 1860 election. That election was a very important event. For years, the country had been divided over issues like slavery. After Lincoln won, seven states left the Union. The Civil War was about to begin.
