This course provides an overview of formative assessment—assessment for learning—and its role in increasing student achievement and motivation. The overview defines formative assessment and looks at how it fits into a balanced assessment system. It also looks at the administrator’s role in helping teachers create and implement effective formative assessments in their lessons. It is targeted to school administrators, SBDM council members, and school board members. There are two self-paced modules in this course. At the end of the course, learners earn a Certificate of Completion for one hour of PD and EILA credit.
