        Red Wasp

The red wasp (Polistes annularis) has a curious nickname, the “paper wasp.” They may get this name from the look of their nests. The individual egg holes have a thin paper-like lining. Red wasps have a unique talent. Red wasps are not aggressive, but they will dutifully protect their nests.
