Muir Glacier In Glacier Bay, Alaska | Ken Burns: The National Parks

John Muir first brought the bay to the nation's attention in 1879. Soon, steamship companies were bringing tourists there, and named one of the most prominent glaciers after Muir. It became a national monument in 1925 and in 1980, a national park. Source: American Geographical Society.
