Muir Glacier In Glacier Bay, Alaska | Ken Burns: The National Parks

John Muir first brought the bay to the nation's attention in 1879. Soon, steamship companies were bringing tourists there-and named one of the most prominent glaciers after Muir. It became a national monument in 1925 and later, in 1980, a national park. Source: American Geographical Society.
