        A New Species Emerges

In this video from the PBS series NATURE, students learn how the coywolf emerged as a new species in the early 20th century. An animated sequence shows the series of events that led to interbreeding between coyotes and wolves in Algonquin National Park in the early 20th century.

Funder: Major support for NATURE is provided by the Arnhold Family, in Memory of Clarisse Arnhold, the Lillian Goldman Charitable Trust, and the Filomen M. D’Agostino Foundation. Support is also provided by the Corporation for Public Broadcasting, and PBS.
