        A Token and a Turning Point | The Nazi Games: Berlin 1936

        As violence and government sanctioned discrimination against Jews increased in Nazi Germany, the US Jewish community organized to boycott the Berlin games. Germany allowed a token Jewish woman on to the fencing team to prevent countries from pulling out of the games. Ultimately, the United States decided to participate, and many countries followed their lead.
