The Secret Life of Scientists & Engineers | Chris Hadfield

Meet astronaut Chris Hadfield in this media gallery from NOVA’s “The Secret Life of Scientists & Engineers.” Chris trained for his entire life to become an astronaut— studying to become an engineer and flying as a fighter pilot for the Royal Canadian Air Force. He became the first Canadian to walk in space (in 2001) and command the International Space Station (ISS) (in 2012). During his time on board the ISS, he recorded a zero-gravity cover of David Bowie’s “Space Oddity,” which became a YouTube sensation, viewed by over 30 million people. This resource is part of the NOVA: Secret Life of Scientists & Engineers Collection.
