        Sigmund Freud, the man who would one day explore the tumultuous world of the mind - desires, dreams, anxieties, wishes - began by studying the anatomy of the brain. Growing up in Germany, Freud was exposed to two very different religions. While his family was Jewish, his nurse was Catholic and constantly took him to church. He associated with the Catholic religion, but never forgot his Jewish roots.
