        Imaging with Radar

This interactive activity from NOVA explains how synthetic aperture radar (SAR) technology uses radio waves to create high-quality images that allow operators to identify objects on the ground from high overhead, even in complete darkness or low-visibility conditions caused by bad weather. It also provides users an opportunity to analyze an actual SAR image made of Washington, D.C.
